Taylor Swift fans have a new enemy; Ticketmaster. After nearly a week of problems during Swift’s concert pre-sale, Ticketmaster has canceled the public on-sale set for Friday. In a statement, Ticketmaster blamed “extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand.” Ticketmaster said a record two million tickets were sold to Swift’s concerts on Tuesday, and the demand almost broke its website. Nearly 3.5 million people signed up to be verified to buy Taylor tickets. Combined with online bot attacks, the stress was enough to cripple Ticketmaster. A blog post from the company added, “this disrupted the predictability and reliability that is the hallmark of our Verified Fan platform.”
Due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand, tomorrow's public on-sale for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour has been cancelled.
