D’Angelo apparently had some projects in the vault. While attending the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame Induction last weekend, Questlove hinted at the possibility of new music from D’Angelo. Questlove said, “You’ll see soon.” When asked to describe the unreleased music, Questlove mentioned, “It’s always the sound of yesterday but for the future, and this record’s no different.”

D’Angelo’s last studio album, Black Messiah, was released in 2014. He sadly passed away on October 14th, 2025 after battling pancreatic cancer.

Despite the speculation and hints from Questlove, D’Angelo’s estate has not confirmed any official posthumous releases (yet.)
