The most streamed artist in the world is taking his act to the screen as his HBO show, The Idol, is set to drop on June 4th. Not only will The Weeknd be acting in the show, made by the creators of Euphoria, but he also created the soundtrack with the help of his buddy Mike Dean.
This won’t be The Weeknd’s first time acting, as he did have a small role in the film Uncut Gems back in 2019 and also did some voice work for the adult cartoon, American Dad.
This will, however, be his first full-fledged starring role, and if his skills as an actor are even half that of his skills as a musician, he should knock it out of the park. Looks like we’ll have a new show to binge to start the summer!
