Yesterday rapper Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison without the possibility of parole for shooting and injuring rapper Megan Thee Stallion. Lanez shot at both Megan’s feet during an argument as they were leaving a party at Kylie Jenner’s home in 2020. Lanez was convicted of felony assault in December 2022, however the sentencing hearing was delayed due to him hiring new attorneys and attempting to get a new trial. The request for a new trial was denied in May. Megan wrote a statement that was read at the sentencing hearing saying, “Slowly but surely, I’m healing. But I’ll never be the same. His crime warrants the full weight of the law.”
