It’s an interesting topic of discussion when it comes to art and the people who created it…what happens after the artist passes away? What if they have a vault full of their art that the world has yet to see? Should the fans be entitled to it, or should we respect that the artist can’t decide for themselves now and let everything in the vault be as it is?
Well, Tyler, The Creator has made sure that he has the final say in it now and long after he no longer is on this Earth. After performing an unreleased song at a recent show in L.A., Tyler addressed the crowd and said, “Some of these are so good I can’t just let ’em sit on my hard drive. Because I have in my will that if I die, they can’t put no f*cking posthumous album out. That’s f*cking gross, get like some random feature on it, some n*gga I didn’t f*ck with.”
Over the years we’ve seen posthumous albums and songs come out from the likes of Mac Miller, XXXTentacion, and Juice WRLD just to name a few. Tyler, however, won’t be joining that group in the posthumous release department, and we’ll get to hear him continue to share his art with the world at his say-so.
