On Friday’s episode of Ellen, John Cena admitted he never attended his high-school prom. But in a secret twist, Ellen and Cena’s fiancée, Nikki Bella, made it up to him by throwing him a surprise prom on the spot. “I was dead broke, and I had a chance to stay on campus and earn some money, so I didn’t go to prom,” Cena explained. Ellen replied, “We want to have you go to prom and you need a date to go to prom, so Nikki, come on out.” Bella than appeared in a purple dress with a boutonniere for Cena, while Ellen declared them prom king and queen. “You want to get some cheesy photos taken,” she told the lucky couple, who later danced awkwardly to “Three Times a Lady.” Not coincidentally, Cena stars in the upcoming comedy Blockers about a group of parents who try to stop their teenage kids from having sex on prom night.
