Hot Radio Maine’s 2nd Annual “Cuts for Class” provided 124 FREE back to school HAIRCUTS for students 18 and under. This promotion was in conjunction with Crow’s Nest Barbershop in Auburn and Dirigo Federal Credit Union. The free haircuts took place Monday August 29th at Crow’s Nest Barbershop’s Auburn, Maine location located at 600 Turner Street. Crow’s Nest’s professional barbers spent eight hours with minimal breaks cutting hair on a first come first serve basis. There was no charge, cost or fees.
Hot Radio Maine morning host and Program Director Ryan Deelon announced the event. “We’re excited to be able to put on this event for a second year. Last year there were 106 free haircuts and we’re hoping to top that this year. As we know, the start of school can be an exciting time, but also a stressful experience for some families who experience hardship. Hopefully this event will help families in their back to school planning and also help kids feel good about themselves as they start the year.”
Frank Crosen, the owner of Crow’s Nest Barbershop who partnered with Hot Radio Maine on the promotion and said “We want to make sure kids are looking and feeling their best. We really value the partnership with Hot Radio Maine here and the ability to give back to our community. We look forward to seeing everyone on the 29th.”
Cuts for Class is an annual event for Hot Radio Maine. The station “buys out” the barbershop for the day donating haircuts to students on a first come first serve basis. It follows in the footsteps of other Hot Radio Maine community events like free turkeys for Thanksgiving, free commercials for small businesses during the pandemic and continued money giveaways to Maine listeners.
