2. Police in Skowhegan are searching for a missing 12-year-old. Summer Stuard was last seen early Sunday morning between 3 and 7:30 at her home. She’s 5-foot-4 with brown shoulder-length hair, wears glasses, and was last seen in a Bluey T-shirt and brown shorts. Anyone with information is urged to contact Skowhegan Police. (WMTW)
3. Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner is facing backlash after using the R-word in a recent interview. Referring to rumors that he had a Nazi tattoo, he said, “that’s the [expletive] most retarded [expletive] I’ve ever heard in my life.” Disability advocates quickly condemned the remark, calling the language harmful and offensive. Platner had previously apologized for using the same word in old Reddit posts, saying it doesn’t reflect who he is today. (PH)
