1. More than 31,000 households remained without power Sunday morning after last week’s two-day nor’easter, with restoration efforts possibly stretching into Tuesday, according to CMP. As of this morning the number was down to 9,200. (CMP)
2. This afternoon we’ll experience a Solar Eclipse. In Maine, the eclipse will begin at 2:22pm with totality beginning at 3:32pm and ending at 3:34pm. Thousands have poured into Houlton, the last spot in the country along the path of totality. (WGME)
3. Friday morning, a 4.8 earthquake was centered in Readington Township, N.J., about 40 miles outside of New York City. The quake was one of the biggest to hit the area in over a century. People reported shaking as far south as Maryland and Washington D.C. and as far north as Maine. A strong 3.8 aftershock in New Jersey on Friday afternoon was among many other smaller additional quakes. (CBS)
4. The Maine Celtics have advanced to their first ever G League finals. They have home court advantage against Oklahoma City. Game 1 of the 3 game series is tomorrow at the Expo. (MC)
5. South Carolina finished the season 38-0, winning the National Championship by defeating Iowa 87-75 yesterday. Iowa’s Caitlin Clark finished her college career without a national title. She finished the game with 30 points. South Carolina’s Dawn Staley has now won three National Titles as a coach. Purdue will take on UConn in the NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship game tonight.
