1. Trump’s lawyers yesterday said that it will take them years to prepare to defend him against allegations that he conspired to overturn the legitimate results of the 2020 presidential election. They asked a judge to hold his federal trial in April 2026, well after next year’s presidential election. Prosecutors originally requested a trial date of January 2, 2024. (PH)
2. A new study by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) found that marijuana and hallucinogen use, and binge drinking have reached a historic high among U.S. adults ages 35-50. In 2022, 8% of adults in this age group used hallucinogens, while 44% used marijuana, and 84% reported binge drinking. (JN)
3. Gray-New Gloucester/Raymond had a rough start to the Little League World Series. The Maine squad lost its opening game, 10-0 to Seattle, and now will play in an elimination game tomorrow at 2pm vs. Media, Pennsylvania. (PH)
