During his visit to Hawaii, President Biden on Monday promised that the federal government will help Maui “for as long as it takes” to recover from damage caused by the United States’ deadliest wildfire in more than a century. 3. Union workers at Bath Iron Works went to work yesterday with a new contract. The contract raises pay between 2.6% and 9.6% in the first year, 5% in the second year and 4% in the third year. The approval of the contract avoids another strike like the one three years ago, which contributed to delays in delivering ships. (WMTW)
4. The York Paddle Tennis and Pickleball Club has faced major noise complaints from neighbors and is now pulling back its plans to expand. The courts are open 7 days a week 12 hours a day and neighbors. The club is now looking to build an 8 foot specially designed fence to mitigate the sound. (WGME)
