3. Maine drug agents say they arrested a man, who was wanted in Texas, for selling drugs in the Portland area. They searched a motel room in Westbrook on Tuesday and found $40,000 worth of drugs, including half a pound of crystal meth, crack, cocaine, and heroin. (WGME)
4. Rescue teams spent 21 hours (Sat-Sun) working to rescue six people who got into trouble on Mount Katahdin. Weather conditions on Mount Katahdin deteriorated, forcing teams to shelter in place. Mount Katahdin is Maine’s tallest peak. Many hikers consider it one of the most difficult parts of the Appalachian Trail. (WMTW)
5. A University of Nebraska women’s volleyball match in Memorial Stadium set the world record for the largest crowd ever to watch a women’s sporting event. An announced crowd of 92,003 was in attendance. The previous record holder was a women’s soccer match in Spain. (AP)
