1. President Joe Biden declared that he will stay in the race against former president Donald Trump. On Friday, Biden addressed critics of his debate performance. He told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, “I was exhausted. I didn’t listen to my instincts, in terms of preparing, and [had] a bad night.” The 81-year-old Biden was also asked about taking a cognitive test. He said being president gives him a mental workout. He said, “I get a full neurological test every day.” When asked if he would drop out of the race for president, Biden said, “I mean, if the Lord Almighty came down and said, ‘Joe, get out of the race,’ I’d get out of the race. 4. Ammunition vending machines have been installed in some grocery stores across Alabama, Texas and Oklahoma. The machines allow anyone 21 and over to buy ammo with the same ease as buying a soda from a vending machine. 5. With Joey Chestnut out of the competition, the Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog-Eating contest made room for a new winner. Pat Bertoletti was officially crowned the hot dog-eating champ after eating 58 hot dogs and buns within 10 minutes, a new personal record. Meanwhile, Joey Chestnut is set to compete against his longtime rival Kobayashi, a six-time winner of Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, in an all-beef hot dog eating contest titled Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef.
