2. Yarmouth’s annual Christmas tree-lighting tradition is back in the spotlight after the town stopped hosting it to be more inclusive. In response, residents rallied to put up their own 40-foot tree downtown, complete with 800 feet of lights and a menorah. A petition with 1,800 signatures is pushing the Town Council to bring the event back to town property, and officials will address the debate at their Dec. 4 meeting. (PH)
3. Maine’s own Cooper Flagg has been named the NBA’s Western Conference Rookie of the Month. The 18-year-old Mavericks star just broke LeBron’s record, becoming the youngest player ever to score 35 in a game.
