1. Maine State Police say the state’s three largest cities, Portland, Bangor and Lewiston, recorded just one homicide combined in 2025. Statewide, police investigated 21 homicides last year, down from the record-setting years of 2023 and 2024. 2. Maine native Jessica Meir blasted off Friday morning on her second trip to the International Space Station, this time serving as spacecraft commander for SpaceX Crew-12. The mission launched from Cape Canaveral and will last about eight months, with the crew conducting research to support future moon and Mars missions. 3. There’s a glimmer of hope for Maine’s lobster industry. After years of decline, surveys show baby lobster counts have been above average the past two years in a key stretch of the central coast.
