1. All six registered voters of tiny Dixville Notch in New Hampshire cast their ballots for Nikki Haley over former President Donald Trump at midnight. The resort town was the first place in the nation to vote in the 2024 primaries. The New Hampshire resort community has a tradition of first-in-the-nation voting that dates back to 1960, with the results usually announced just a few minutes after midnight. (PH)
2. The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office says it has received several complaints of robocalls pretending to be President Joe Biden and encouraging people not to vote in today’s primary election. The AG’s office says this appears to be an illegal attempt to disrupt the New Hampshire Presidential Primary Election and to suppress New Hampshire voters. (WGME)
3. The Maine Bureau of Highway Safety reports Maine saw the lowest number of fatal vehicle crashes in nearly a decade. Maine saw 134 fatal crashes in 2023, about 50 fewer than in 2022. That’s the lowest reported number since 2014. (WGME)
4. The Holy Donut and Oakhurst Dairy have collabed on a limited edition milk flavor. Chocolate Sea Salt Donut flavored milk is now available at local grocery stores and the holy donut’s four locations until the end of March. (WGME)
5. Today is National Pie Day. In a recent poll Apple Pie was crowned America’s favorite with 37% of the votes, followed by pecan pie, cherry and blueberry pie.
