Elon Musk announced on Monday, the first human test subject got the Neuralink chip implanted in their brain and is “recovering well.” Musk added, “Initial results show promising neuron spike detection.” The chip is supposed to let people perform computer functions wirelessly via “think and click” technology. 2. Researchers believe they have found the remains of Amelia Earhart’s aircraft 16,000 feet underwater in the Pacific Ocean. This comes 87 years after Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, disappeared with no trace of their bodies or plane. (JN)
3. Sen. Susan Collins announced yesterday that fifteen organizations and state agencies in Maine have been awarded more than $20 million to combat homelessness. The money will be used to support housing assistance and those who are homeless across the state. (WMTW)
4. Maine passed a law in 2001 requiring Wabanaki studies be taught in schools. Twenty years later it passed a bill requiring African American studies. A new bill before legislators would put funding and support behind those existing laws. (PH)
