4. The Ohio State Buckeyes captured the College Football Playoff national title on Monday night. OSU defeated Notre Dame 34 – 23 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The championship is the first ever in the new CFP era that featured a 12-team playoff. Ohio State claimed its seventh national title in football, and the first since 2014. (NBC)
5. A Maine pup is heading to the Puppy Bowl in a few weeks. Tula is from the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland and will get to romp around in the Puppy Bowl, which airs before the Super Bowl. The Puppy Bowl looks to inspire more pet adoptions. (WGME)
