- President Joe Biden tested positive for the coronavirus. Officials at the White House stated Biden is experiencing mild symptoms. They also added that the president is vaccinated and boosted. (WGME)
- Tristan Hamilton, a Maine teenager was found not guilty of trying to enlist others in a plan to commit a school shooting in South Portland. He was found guilty of arson. A SWAT team shocked neighbors when they arrested Hamilton in April 2023 at his family’s home. (WMTW)
- The Biddeford City Council voted down a zoning change that would have allowed a Domino’s pizza business to move in across the street from Pizza by Alex. Domino’s current building is at risk of being demolished to make way for a new four-way intersection. (PH)
- YMCA of Southern Maine has suspended day camp programming this summer at the Portland Branch and at Otter Pond in Standish. Summer camp at the Portland Branch has been suspended because the space is being used as a family shelter for asylum seekers. The Otter Pond Outdoor Adventure Camp was canceled this summer because of a sudden staff leave of absence. (PH)
- The Yarmouth Clam Festival kicks off tomorrow and runs through Sunday. The mile-and-a-half parade begins at 6 p.m. and ends around 7:30 p.m Friday. One of the festival’s crowd favorites, The Diaper Dash, kicks off at noon on Sunday under the Memorial Green tent. (PH)
