1. During a meeting on Monday night, Maine’s delegation for the Democratic National Convention has pledged their support to Vice President Kamala Harris. Maine’s delegates at the meeting voted unanimously to endorse Harris as the Democratic presidential nominee. (WMTW)
2. The Bangor Police Department says two people were killed in a crash following a police chase Monday morning. The two from Orono died at the scene after the car they were in sped off the road and hit a tree. (WGME)
3. Bernie Sanders will hold a rally at the State Theater on Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. Sanders, who ran for the Democratic nomination in 2016 and 2020, has not yet endorsed anyone since President Joe Biden announced he was withdrawing from the race. (WGME)

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicts that a moderate solar storm will begin around 8 p.m. tonight before peaking at around 2 a.m. Wednesday, giving central and northern Maine another chance at seeing the aurora borealis. 5. McDonald’s will extend its $5 Value Meal at most locations. The fast food giant introduced the meal in June for a four-week run. Since then, McDonald’s restaurants have seen an increase in customers. The value meal includes a McChicken or McDouble, four-piece chicken nuggets, fries, and a drink. (CNBC)
