1. Tech billionaire Elon Musk is reportedly planning a major political spending push in Maine as part of a $100 to $120 million effort to help Republicans keep control of the U.S. Senate. 2. Sen. Susan Collins says all ICE vehicle stops will soon be recorded with body-worn cameras after meeting with the agency’s acting director following the fatal Biddeford shooting. 3. With the new school year about a month away, more than two dozen Maine school districts are still scrambling to hire bus drivers. Some districts are short as many as six drivers and say they may have to combine bus routes again if they can’t fill the openings before classes begin. (WGME)
4. Maine native Jessica Meir is preparing for her sixth career spacewalk just days after taking command of the International Space Station. NASA says Meir is scheduled to head outside the station on August 6 to help upgrade solar arrays and install critical data cables as part of a series of spacewalks planned for August. (WGME)
