1. Voters in Saco have approved a plan to build two new schools to house its pre-K through fifth-grade students, replacing its current four schools. Those new schools would accommodate more than 1,400 students. The new campus with both schools will be located between Mill Brook Road and Route 1. The $101 million in funding would come from the state, while Saco would contribute $31 million. (WMTW)
2. Investigators say it appears the 38-foot-long, 58,000 pound, female humpback whale named Chunk that was found dead and pulled from Portland Harbor last week likely drowned. They examined injuries related to this entanglement, which included congested lungs they said were consistent with acute drowning. (WMTW)
3. Expect a spike in temperature in Maine next week. Yesterday, the Climate Prediction Center released its updated 6 to 10-day temperature outlook for the United States. It could reach near 90 next week, starting around Wednesday. Expect an increase in humidity levels as well. (WGME)
4. Concord Coach Lines is ending its bus service to Lewiston/Auburn at the end of June. A new service run by the state will start in early July leaving only a short time gap where there is no service. (WMTW)
