1. The Maine DOE, Maine Principals’ Association, and Greely High have 10 days to sign a Title IX corrective action agreement or face possible referral to the DOJ. If signed, they admit violations and must reverse MPA’s policy allowing transgender athletes in girls’ sports. 3. The Portland Sea Dogs will become the Candlepins on August 2nd. Dennis Meehan, Sea Dogs Assistant General Manager, stopped in this morning to make the announcement. 4. Facing a sales slump, Dollar General has announced it will close 141 locations in early 2026. DG’s stock has fallen by nearly 70% over the last two years due to competition from Walmart and sites like Shein and Temu. The locations set to close haven’t been revealed. (BL)
