1. The UN Security Council has passed a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and an unconditional release of hostages after the U.S. abstained from voting on the measure. Previous attempts to pass a ceasefire resolution had failed, with the U.S. vetoing the measure. (JN)
2. The work continues to repair damage done by Saturday’s storm. CMP reported more than 18,000 were still without power as of 6AM this morning. They are hopeful that most of those still without power will have it back by the end of the day. (WMTW)
3. Nathan Sanborn, of Portland, found himself buried up to his neck after an avalanche at SugarLoaf on Sunday. He was luckily freed by another skier. Yesterday Sanborn was back on the slopes. (PH)
4. Today the Portland Sea Dogs and the Maine Whoopie Pie Festival will be awarded with an official certificate from the Guinness Book of World Records. Last June the two teamed up to attempt the record for the longest line of whoopie pies, 2,121. (UPI)
