1. A federal judge has ordered the release of a Portland teen who’s been held in a Texas ICE facility for more than six months. Nineteen-year-old Olivia Andre, a nursing student originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is expected to be released by Friday after being detained while seeking asylum in Canada. Congresswoman Chellie Pingree called the conditions at the facility inhumane after visiting earlier this week. (WGME)
2. Two missing 8-year-old girls in Oxford County have been found safe after a major search in Mexico, Maine. Officials say the girls ran away from Mountain Valley Community School Wednesday afternoon and were later located by search crews. (WMTW)
3. Maine Senator Susan Collins says she’s dealt with an essential tremor throughout her entire Senate career. Collins called the condition benign and says it does not impact her ability to do the job. The longtime senator, who’s served since 1996, is currently seeking a sixth term in office. (WGME)
4. Bangor is moving forward with a syringe delivery pilot program as the city continues dealing with an ongoing HIV outbreak. City councilors voted four-to-one to apply for Bangor Public Health to become a certified syringe service provider. (WGME)
5. The Maine Mariners are headed to the second round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs for the first time in franchise history. The Mariners beat Adirondack 3-to-1 in Game 7 Wednesday night at Cross Insurance Arena, scoring two late goals in the final four minutes to clinch the series. Maine now advances to face the Wheeling Nailers in the North Division Finals starting Friday in West Virginia. (PH)
