1. Nikki Haley made a campaign stop in Portland on Sunday night; the presidential hopeful made her final pitch to Mainers ahead of the Maine primary on Tuesday. Sen. Susan Collins endorsed Haley to become the GOP nominee on Saturday. (WMTW)
2. The Gorham school district is gearing up to ask the state for funding for new buildings. The high school was built in the 1950’s and originally held 750 students. The student population has steadily risen to about 900 now. Last summer, Gorham voters turned down two proposed school budgets for concerns about raising taxes. (WGME)
3. North Berwick-native Mandy Sumner broke the world record for longest swim under ice. Sumner swam 5 meters under ice, which is about 246 feet. (WGME)
4. Caitlin Clark has become the NCAA Division I basketball overall top scorer. Heading into Sunday’s game Clark needed 18 points to break “Pistol Pete” Maravich’s record, which stood for more than 50 years. Caitlin Clark scored 35 points in the game. In what’s being called “Clarkonomics”, WNBA teams have seen a spike in ticket sales now that Iowa star Caitlin Clark has announced plans to enter the draft. Nearly 800 tickets sold in 24 hours for the Connecticut Suns’ May 14th season opener against the Indiana Fever, too. (TMZ)
