1. For the 111th time, the Portland and Deering high school football teams will be getting together for a Thanksgiving Day holiday game. Portland has won seven of the last nine meetings. The only high school football game in Maine played on the holiday kicks off at 10 a.m. (PH)
2. The city of Lewiston brought their Christmas tree to Dufresne Plaza on Tuesday. The 25-foot Colorado spruce comes from Pauline Street in Lewiston. The tree lighting at the holiday celebration will take place at 5:17 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2. (WMTW)
3. Jen Fletcher, the band director at South Portland Middle School, and Laurie Ellis, the director from the Middle School of the Kennebunks will be marching and playing their instruments alongside 406 others like them from all over the country at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. (NCM)

Tickets for January 5th’s “Maine Event” featuring Cooper and Ace Flagg’s Montverde Academy basketball team will go on sale today at 10 a.m. On Jan. 5 at the Cross Arena, Montverde Academy (Florida) will take on Gonzaga Prep (District of Columbia) at 7:30 p.m., and the Flagg twins’ hometown team of Nokomis will take on Cony at 5:30 p.m. (BDN)
5. Hot Radio Maine’s 11th Annual Free Turkey Giveaway was yesterday!! Alongside Maine Credit Unions Campaign for Ending Hunger we handed out 195 free turkeys at the Wells IGA.
