1. Multiple fire crews were on scene in Wells, Monday, responding to a blaze at an apartment building off Sanford Road. Water needed to be transported via tanker to the blaze, as the apartment was in an area that didn’t have access to fire hydrants. No injuries were reported, and all apartment tenants were accounted for. (WMTW)
2. A Biddeford man who swung a pole at police during the January 6th Capitol riot will spend more than four years behind bars. 45-year-old Christopher Maurer hit police with a pole, a stick and his body. He also reportedly sprayed something at them and tried to whip them with a cell phone cord. He also tried to prevent police from helping another rioter who was suffering from a medical emergency. 3. An eight foot boa constrictor was found on the loose in York County. Deputy Jonathan Marshall of the York County Sheriff’s Office secured the snake in his vehicle to get it out of the cold temperatures, which can be deadly to the animal, the sheriff’s office said. The Maine Warden Service was then contacted to retrieve the snake. (NCM)
4. According to AAA, nearly 80 million Americans are expected to travel during the extended Thanksgiving holiday week. The amount of potential travelers is up by 1.7 million over last year. AAA said 71.7 million trips will be taken by car, and a record 5.84 million people are planning flights. (NBC)
5. The lowest gas prices in three years are on tap for Thanksgiving travel. AAA announced that national average gasoline prices might fall below $3 a gallon before people hit the road for Turkey Day. The national average for a gallon of gas is already at its lowest mark since January. (Yahoo)
