1. Hannaford Grocery Stores dealt with technical difficulties with their website and app once again this weekend. The grocery chain said those services are now back up and running. It’s unclear if this is related to the previous cybersecurity issue. (WGME)
2. The Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Co. and Museum brought its annual Polar Express train journey back to Portland’s Eastern Promenade last week. Staff and volunteers transformed nine historic passenger coaches into a holiday experience that mirrors the popular book and movie. Polar Express rides run through Dec. 23 (PH)
3. The 40-foot blue spruce “Holiday Tree”, installed Wednesday in Monument Square, has drawn criticism for its appearance with some calling it a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. A city spokesperson explained that this year’s options for trees were limited due to extremely dry weather, which impacted tree quality and availability. Transporting larger or fuller trees from farther distances would have significantly increased costs. The tree lighting is set for 4:30pm on Friday. (WMTW)
4. TSA estimates 18.3 million will go through its security stations between 11/26 and 12/3, making it the busiest air travel period in history. The top ten air travel days in TSA history have all been set this year. The record was set on July 4th when three million passengers went through airport security. (Yahoo)
