1. At least 15 deaths have been attributed to Hurricane Milton. As of Thursday evening, there were still just under three million homes and businesses without power. Eleven million people are still at risk from flooding. (NBC)
2. Lisbon Schools Superintendent Richard Green says seven students have been suspended from the Lisbon High School football team due to an alleged hazing incident. The team is still under suspension, Green says that without these seven players, the team of 30-plus students could start playing again when and if the ban is lifted. (WGME)
3. Mainers got a great look at the Northern Lights last night. It all has to do with the solar wind, which is made up of charged protons and electrons from the sun. The protons and electrons travel toward the earth and enter at the poles, which are the field’s strongest points. The electrons then collide with molecules in our atmosphere, resulting in the different colors we see in the sky. (NCM)
