1. A 17-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries after being shot early Tuesday morning at the Meadowbrook Apartments complex on Forest Ave in Portland. The teen was taken to Maine Medical Center and is now in stable condition. Police are investigating. (PH)
2. Maine absentee voting is on pace to exceed 2022, pointing to huge voter turnout. As of Tuesday afternoon, more than 192,000 absentee ballots had been requested statewide. Early in-person voting started last week. As of Friday afternoon, roughly 19,500 people had cast their ballots in-person. (PH)
3. Walgreens plans to close about 1,200 locations over the next three years as the drugstore chain seeks to turnaround its struggling U.S. business. About 500 store closures will come in the current fiscal year. (WMTW)
4. Tom Brady’s bid to buy a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders franchise was approved during the league’s fall meeting in Atlanta on Tuesday. Brady’s new job as a broadcaster with FOX was an issue because it could represent a conflict of interest. The ownership does change some things with FOX. Brady will reportedly not be allowed to attend production meetings with players and coaches, visit other teams’ facilities or criticize referees during games (among other restrictions). Brady also owns a minority stake in the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces. (TMZ)
