1. Another bomb threat was directed at Topsham’s Mt. Ararat Middle School Monday. Around 7 p.m., the school received another voicemail with a bomb threat. Classes were held as usual Tuesday, with police officers stationed at the middle school and Mt. Ararat High School about a half-mile away. Parents had the option to keep their kids home from school for the day. (PH)
2. Three Mainers and a Massachusetts man have been accused of drug trafficking after police say they seized $70,000 worth of fentanyl, heroin and cocaine from a home in Carthage. Police say the search at the home was the result of an investigation that began in July. (WGME)
3. “I plan to wear a bikini tomorrow to the Senate floor,” Senator Susan Collins joked to reporters on Monday. Collins said she believes dropping the Senate dress code deals a blow to the dignity of the Senate. (WGME)
4. A 77-year-old Maine man is recovering after being attacked by a fox in Farmingdale while he was taking out the trash Tuesday morning. A gray fox bit him on the leg and hand. Game wardens responded and reportedly shot the fox, but the animal ran under a collapsed barn on the property. Officials believe the fox is dead, but they were not able to get to it to have it tested for rabies. There have been multiple other rabid animal attacks throughout the state this year. (WGME)
5. Since Dave Portnoy’s barstool pizza review of Monte’s came out, the restaurant says it’s experiencing unprecedented demand and are taking steps to make more. They’re also offering $10 gift cards to any customer waiting longer than 20 minutes for slices. (WGME)
