1. During public comment at Monday night’s Portland city council meeting, several people tuned in over zoom spewing off-topic or racist comments. Portland Mayor, Kate Snyder, called for a break in the meeting on the verge of tears. The city council has been dealing with these sorts of disruptions, also known as Zoom bombing, for the past year. 2. Four juveniles committed a crime spree in Wilton that included breaking and entering into the Tractor Supply to steal a BB gun. They allegedly stole one of their parents’ cars and drove to Oxford, where they were found and charged Tuesday. Police later arrested one of the children’s mothers. They say she was in the stolen vehicle and text messages show the son told her he was going to steal more stuff, and she allegedly responded with “Be safe.” (WGME)
3. Free at-home COVID tests will again be available by mail. Orders can be placed at COVIDTests.gov starting Sept. 25, and the no-cost tests will be delivered for free by the United States Postal Service. A rise in cases is expected during the colder months. (PH)
