1. A Waterville woman has been charged with OUI after driving her minivan the wrong way on I-295 in Freeport. Police say her minivan hit a box van and a transit van in Freeport. Both the minivan and transit van drivers were taken to Maine Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. (WGME)
2. The York Planning Board on Thursday night voted down a Wiggly Bridge Distillery’s application to expand over concerns about whiskey fungus. Many residents are concerned over the black, sticky fungus on their properties. Whiskey fungus has no known health risks, but it can damage homes and trees. It feeds off ethanol fumes that most distilleries emit. Wiggly Bridge says there is no emission reading outside their property line. (WGME)
3. NASA astronaut, Frank Rubio, set a record for the longest time in space for an American at 371 days after he landed Wednesday in Kazakhstan. Rubio’s mission was only supposed to be around 180 days, but when debris damaged his ship, he faced an extended stay aboard the International Space Station while a replacement ship was rushed to orbit. 4. An estimated $925 million jackpot is up for grabs in the next Powerball drawing on Saturday night. It’s the fourth-largest in Powerball history. The last Powerball jackpot, a $1.08 billion prize, was won by one person in California and was claimed on July 19. Since then, there have been 30 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner. (AP)
