1. Patrick Clancy says he forgives his former wife, Lindsay Clancy, for killing their three young children. In his first televised interview since her mistrial, Patrick told 60 Minutes he believes her actions were entirely the result of mental illness, saying headlines calling her a “killer mom” or “monster” were not accurate. 2. A Mount Desert woman and her two young grandchildren, ages 5 and 3, were found dead inside a submerged vehicle in Pond Cove Sunday morning. The woman and children disappeared while traveling from Jonesboro to Machias Saturday night. State Police are investigating how the vehicle ended up in the water. (WMTW)

3. More than 100 Stephen King fans gathered in downtown Bangor Sunday to celebrate the author’s 79th birthday. The weekend-long celebration featured games, costumes and activities inspired by King’s work and wrapped up with a “Pet Sematary” pet parade. King has long drawn inspiration from Bangor, which helped inspire the fictional town of Derry in It. (NCM)

4. Free car seat safety checks are being offered across Maine this week as part of Child Passenger Safety Week. Certified technicians will make sure seats are properly installed, fit the child and meet state law, while also checking for recalls. (WGME)
