The 15th Annual Summer Slam went down Tuesday, August 5, 2025, on Portland’s Eastern Prom. Eighty hoopers from across Maine took the court in the Boys & Girls Rising Stars Games and the High School All-Star Games.
The event is organized each year by Nik Caner-Medley and Tru Sports, bringing the community together for a full day of basketball and good vibes. This year’s slam also featured a community cookout with $3 Dewey’s Mobile Grill, raffles, awards, and more.
We were on-site broadcasting live! Check out the audio below — Ryan Deelon caught up with:
• Nik Caner-Medley (Event Organizer)

• Seth from sponsor AAA Driving School
• Oli Higgins, All-Star from Brewer
• Jamier Rose, Summer Slam alum turned coach
A Conversation with Nik Caner-Medley
Leading up to the big day, Nik Caner-Medley—former professional basketball player and Deering High School legend—stopped by the Maine Made Studios to talk about Summer Slam’s impact and how players like Cooper Flagg and Mackenzie Holmes have changed the landscape of high school basketball in Maine. Their success has inspired a new generation of athletes, and you’ll see some of that talent on full display at Summer Slam.
