Sean “Diddy” Combs has officially learned his fate in court. Judge Arun Subramanian has sentenced him to just over four years in federal prison.
The ruling was longer than the 14-month sentence Diddy’s legal team had pushed for, but far shorter than the 11 years prosecutors requested.
The sentencing hearing stretched on for several hours. Prosecutors criticized Diddy for lining up a speaking engagement in Miami so soon after the trial, while his defense focused on character witnesses and a video showing moments with his children. Toward the end, Diddy himself addressed the court, issuing an apology to his former partner, Cassie Ventura.
He still has other lawsuits piling up, so we will keep you posted as more updates roll in.
