Today for If You Can Hear Her, You Can Be Her, I spoke with Trish Moulton, owner of the Dance Studio of Maine!
Trish shared how her love of dance began when she started taking classes at 12 years old in Long Island. Jazz and hip hop quickly became her favorite styles, helping shape the passion that would eventually turn into a career.
After marrying a Maine native, Trish moved to the state and took a leap of faith at just 24 years old by purchasing the Dance Studio of Maine! She admitted the early years came with financial challenges, but her dedication to building a strong dance community helped the studio grow.
One of Trish’s proudest accomplishments today is her staff. Many of the instructors working at the studio were once her students, creating a full-circle moment as they now help teach and inspire the next generation of dancers.
The studio offers dance classes for all ages and experience levels, creating a space where students can build confidence while exploring their love for dance. Trish also shared that the studio is planning a variety of summer camps, including themed sessions inspired by K-Pop Demon Hunters and Moana!
When it comes to advice for young women, Trish encourages them to stay true to themselves and not feel the need to apologize unnecessarily.
