The Celtics introduced their two biggest free agent signings at a press conference in Boston on Wednesday. Kemba Walker and Enes Kanter were on hand to take questions from the media about joining the team.
Walker is going to be Boston’s replacement for Kyrie Irving, who unfortunately left for Brooklyn this summer, but it’s Kanter that will actually be taking Kyrie’s jersey number. During the press conference, Kanter was asked why he chose the No. 11. He explained that it was his old number and he couldn’t help but troll Kyrie:

Kanter wants to be the reason no one else will wear 11, which is a reference to Irving’s Nike commercial from last year in which he said the same thing:

Kanter seemed to enjoy himself at the press conference and will enjoy the spotlight that comes with playing in Boston. Walker will also take a familiar jersey number, taking Antoine Walker’s old No. 8 jersey, but he says he got Antoine’s “blessing” to do so. It may be too early to say, but it seems like these guys are about to become fan favorites!
