After months of speculation, R. Kelly was finally put behind bars. Now, R. Kelly is scared for his life behind bars, fearing the retaliation from fellow inmates who know that he is being accused of horrible sex crimes involving underage girls.
TMZ reported that the rapper’s attorney said that during a recent visit with Kelly, he said solitary helps because he believes his life would be in real danger with the general population and that he feels safer by himself.
During Kelly’s hearing on Tuesday, the judge denied bond, leaving Kelly behind bars for the foreseeable future. Prosecutors have their hands on the rapper’s underage sex tapes, which was given to them by Kelly’s former employees. While the rapper believes he is better off in solitary, his attorney says it creates a problem because he has no one to lean on. He is unable to read or write, which makes simple tasks difficult.
Kelly has 15 minute phone access a month to speak to family and friends. While prisoners in general pop have access to the phone all the time. Based on his past actions and everything he has been accused of, it would probably be hard to find anyone in and out of prison that feels bad for the rapper. Looks like Kelly has a tough road ahead of him.
