Unfortunate news for everyone hoping to see A$AP Rocky finally get out of jail. The rapper has just been charged with Assault Causing Actual Bodily Harm stemming from a street brawl in the Sweden’s capital and if convicted, he could spend two years behind bars.
The prosecutor said he will continue to be held in jail pending a trial, which the date has yet to be set. The trial will be held within the next two weeks and should last three days. Two members of Rocky’s crew have also been charged with the same crime and they are also awaiting trial.
The charge has been three weeks in the making and the rapper and his two associates have been in jail ever since they turned themselves in to Swedish authorities earlier in the month. The only good news for A$AP Rocky is that the group will not be charged with Aggravated Assault, which is a more serious crime which carries a 6-year prison sentence.
The prosecutor tells TMZ he will not recommend the full two year sentence if A$AP is convicted. He won’t say what his recommendation will be but says it depends on how the trial unfolds. We are hoping for the best for the rapper and his crew through this trial.
