1. New rules were released for law enforcement agencies in Maine Tuesday. Among the changes, agencies must establish policies requiring any complaint of bias-based profiling be sent to the state attorney general. Each department’s use-of-force policy now has to include language that bans chokeholds. Departments must also establish policies requiring officers to intervene and report any instance of excessive force. (WMTW)

2. The FBI says that no federal crime was committed regarding the noose found in NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace’s garage stall. The FBI concluded no one could have known Wallace would be using that garage, which was only assigned to him last week. NASCAR president Steve Phelps later said that the organization will continue investigating the origins of the noose, which might have been there as early as 2019. (USA TODAY)

3. Tim Goodwin who built and placed a sign in honor of PRIDE month in Standish says they “have been spray-painted with Trump 2020, they’ve been blocked with Trump signs, there was an American flag stapled to it and it was chainsawed into thirds.” On Saturday Goodwin and another Standish resident were threatened by a man with a gun while trying to fix the sign. Authorities are investigating the incidents. (NEWS CENTER)

4. The United States Covid-19 case count tops 2.3 million with over 121,000 deaths. Maine had 23 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday and no additional deaths. The last recorded death was six days ago which brought the total to 102. Active cases declined from 463 Monday to 449 Tuesday. (PRESS HERALD)

5. MLB and the MLB Player’s Union reached an agreement to resume the 2020 season. The new schedule will begin on July 23rd or July 24th. Teams are mostly expected to conduct training at ballparks in their home cities starting July 1st. The 60 game regular season is expected to end on September 27. (MLB)
