1. The U.S. tops 8.1 million Coronavirus cases w/ nearly 220,000 related deaths. The Maine CDC reported no new deaths and 26 additional cases on Sunday. The statewide death toll is 146 w/ 648 active cases. (WMTW)
2. The Portland City Council will vote tonight on whether to extend the city’s emergency proclamation and outdoor dining in the Old Port. Depending on the vote, restaurants and retailers could stay open for outdoor dining and sidewalk service through January 4. (WGME)
3. Vice President Mike Pence is expected to host a “Make American Great Again” rally at the Dysart’s warehouse in Hermon this morning. Anyone who attends the rally will be given a temperature check, they will be instructed to wear masks, and given access to hand sanitizer. (NEWS CENTER)
4. A Canadian couple got married on the U.S.-Canada border so family and friends from both countries could attend despite coronavirus-related travel restrictions. Lindsay Clowes and Alex Leckie exchanged vows on a pier along the St. Croix River in New Brunswick. Across the river in Calais, Maine fam and friends watched them tie the knot. In the middle of the river separating the two countries, a boat with the grandparents floated as they witnessed from a safe distance.(WMTW)
