Pharrell Williams will open a set of private micro-schools for students from low-income families. The tuition is guaranteed to be free for the first year. About the project, Pharrell said, “If the system is fixed and unfair, then it needs to be broken.” The first micro-school is scheduled to open in Virginia, this fall. The plan is to accept 30 to 50 third to fifth graders. The curriculum will be based on STEAM (science, technology engineering, art, and math).
