Wiz Khalifa just caught a major legal break in Romania after a court officially overturned his 9-month prison sentence! He was detained in July 2024 for smoking marijuana on stage during a music festival, with prosecutors claiming he possessed 18.53 grams of cannabis.
Wiz was initially hit with an $830 fine, but Romanian authorities appealed the decision, leading to the harsh 9-month prison sentence in December 2025. The Bucharest Court of Appeal has now annulled that sentence and the enforcement warrant, though his legal battle is not over yet.
A new hearing is set for November 12, where prosecutors will push their appeal again, and Khalifa may have to appear via video. Following the initial incident, Khalifa said he meant no disrespect to the country and remains open to returning despite their strict drug laws.
