Earlier this week, Kanye West admitted that he had never read a book and said it was as icky as “eating Brussels sprouts.” There was no better person than Mr. Reading Rainbow, Levar Burton, to respond. In a retweet of the Ye story, Burton replied, “I’m going have to take Mr. West at his word. I hope however, that he shares a different message with the children enrolled in the school he’s founded named after his mother, who was a professor of English. I’m fairly certain she read a book or two.” Burton is referring to West’s Donda Academy private school.
👀Hmmm… I’m going have to take Mr. West at his word. I hope however, that he shares a different message with the children enrolled in the school he’s founded named after his mother, who was an professor of English. I’m fairly certain she read a book or two. #bydhttmwfi https://t.co/HVR0oKpsgf
