- 19-year-old Trevor Bickford from Wells is accused of attacking members of the NYPD with a machete near Times Square on New Year’s Eve. Two officers were injured. Bickford was shot in the shoulder by a third officer. The FBI reportedly is looking into whether Bickford may have become radicalized online by Islamic extremists. (WGME)
- Buffalo defensive back Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit during last night’s MNF. His heartbeat was restored on the field. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition. The game was indefinitely postponed. (WMTW)
- Bryan Kohberger, a 28-year-old criminal justice graduate student was arrested in eastern Pennsylvania on Friday as a suspect in the stabbing deaths of four University of Idaho students last month. He is set to appear in court today. (WMTW)
- As of Jan. 1, Maine’s minimum wage went up to $13.80 an hour statewide and $14 an hour in the City of Portland. Service employees who work under the “tip wage” will now receive a minimum $6.90 per hour. (WGME)
