If you’ve tried to get your hands on some Drake tickets to see him and 21 Savage ahead of their It’s All A Blur Tour this coming summer, you probably had to take out a personal loan to afford them. In all seriousness, the price of these tickets are eye-popping and have inflated to the point that a class action lawsuit has even been filed against Ticketmaster.
The Toronto Star reported that a man from Montreal bought two tickets, totaling $789.54 each for the July 14th tour date. A law firm by the name of LPC Avocat noted that a second show was added for July 15th, with the same seats being available for $350 less. Of course, this led to some raised eyebrows and angry fans.
In going to court, the plaintiffs are seeking “the difference between the prices charged for ‘Official Platinum’ tickets and what their regular price ought to have been,” with an additional $300 per customer in damages. Maybe these fans will cash out after all, and STILL get to see a great show. One thing’s for sure though, we can all agree that these prices are ABSURD.
