1. Former Reality TV Show Host Donald Trump pleaded not guilty to 37 criminal charges on Tuesday after being indicted for his handling of classified documents at his Florida Mar-a-Lago resort. This is the first time in US history that a former president has faced federal criminal charges. Trump’s first stop after leaving the courthouse was a well-known Cuban restaurant in Miami. “Food for everyone,” Trump shouted at one point. (TMZ)
2. Portland voters overwhelmingly voted to reject a proposal to eliminate a rent control cap. Question A failed by a vote of 67% to 33%. (PH)
3. Cities and towns in Maine voted to approve or reject their school budget proposals for 2024. Most Maine communities approved the budget. Gorham voters however rejected the town’s proposed school budget. The proposed Gorham budget would have added $393 to the annual tax bill on a home valued at $300,000. (PH)
4. The owners of Portland’s The Grill Room say the restaurant will be closed for the “foreseeable future” after a fire Friday night. (WGME)
5. The Vegas Golden Knights won the franchise’s first Stanley Cup title on Tuesday night. With a 9-3 victory in Game 5, Vegas won the Stanley Cup Finals series against the Florida Panthers four games to one. Vegas has only been in the National Hockey League for six seasons. (ESPN)
