4. Portland is in the midst of a record-setting heat wave with Tuesday being the 27th consecutive day that the temperature did not fall below 60 degrees. The previous record was 24 set in 1988. Phoenix has had a record-shattering 25 straight days of temperatures at or above 110 degrees. (PH)
